Take a Seat at Luncheons: Table Topics
Our monthly luncheons now have a new component: table topics. Each meeting, we'll have a different topic posted at each table, ranging from marketing to work/life balance to employee issues. We'll spend 10 minutes within our table while we eat discussing our topic to get to know fellow and potential members. Be sure to grab a seat at the next luncheon at a topic you need help in or is perhaps your specialty.

Message from the President
I'm honored and thrilled to be serving as the President of NAWBO San Diego for the 2010-2011 term. I joined NAWBO two years ago and have closely watched the amazing growth our chapter experienced since then. As many of you already know, we've set an ambitious goal to double our current membership before next July. A quote by Earl Nightingale gives me the motivation to easily make that goal a reality: "The more intensely we feel about an idea or a goal, the more assuredly the idea, buried deep in our subconscious, will direct us along the path to its fulfillment." I'm confident our chapter can fulfill this goal of 200 members.
Two things I'm quite fond of are books and quotes, so I plan to continue to share them at our meetings and in my correspondence. Two books I've already mentioned to members are, "The Go-Giver" by Bob Burg & John David Mann and "Delivering Happiness: A Path to Profits, Passion, and Purpose" by Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh. Both are incredible books that I know have already impacted my business in a positive way.
NAWBO has so many benefits to women business owners. I'm always open to fresh ideas, suggestions, and help to make NAWBO San Diego the best organization of its kind. Please feel free to contact me directly, anytime.
At Your Service, Christine McDannell Managing Partner, Social Starfish
P.S. Don't forget to register for our great September events: "Be a Road Warrior in a Technology World," our Sept. 10 seminar, and "Guerrilla Publicity: Connect With the Media for $50K in Free PR," our Sept. 15 luncheon. Visit nawbo-sd.org to save your place!

What's Coming Up?
2010-2011 Member Drive
Our membership drive will start on September 1; we'll be keeping track of all new members who are referred by our current members until April 15. The member who refers the most will be presented an award at BRAVO! in May 2011 and will receive a free pass to our national conference in the fall. Start talking to other women business owners and bring them to one of our next events. The more value we give our members, the more we'll attract, and thus the more value we receive as business owners.
