Message from the President

You've heard this before: when you join a group, any group, to get the most out of your membership you need to participate. I'm witnessing firsthand how our active members are "living" that, doing business with each other, developing supportive relationships and becoming friends. That's what NAWBO is all about!

Since we hold three monthly events and one quarterly event, the "I'm too busy" excuse simply doesn't hold much water. We've added new opportunities to learn, get and give advice, and network to ensure that members have plenty of options to work NAWBO into their hectic schedules. Those who attend events on a regular basis are reaping the benefits, both professionally and personally.

If you're a NAWBO member we haven't seen in a while, I hope you'll try to make it to one of our upcoming events. If you're a potential member, we'd love to see you as well...so you can learn why our chapter is growing so quickly and decide if NAWBO is for you.

What's Coming Up?

For those of you who like to plan, you can find the 2010 speaking schedules for both our monthly luncheon and seminar at nawbo-sd.org. We have some fantastic presenters lined up and we hope to see you at many events. Members, remember there's no cost for you to attend the seminars!

It's BRAVO! Time

NAWBO San Diego's annual BRAVO! Awards, honoring six women business owners, will be held on Wednesday, May 19 at the Courtyard Marriott Airport/Liberty Station. There are many ways to get involved with this gala evening:

• Submit a nomination (NAWBO membership is not required.)
• Become a sponsor (We offer several inexpensive ways to gain valuable exposure for your business.)
• Donate an item for the silent auction
• Attend the event (individual seats and tables will go on sale on
  March 1)

We're very excited to have the fabulous Lisa Nichols of The Secret fame as our keynote speaker. She'll bring an unprecedented level of excitement to the event.
