NAWBO San Diego hosts the BRAVO! Awards every May to celebrate the accomplishments of women entrepreneurs throughout the region. We commemorate the achievements of all our nominees at this festive evening event, which features a dynamic keynote speaker, and present the awards “Oscar-style” to delighted recipients.

Our 2012 awards featured the inspirational, energetic, and humorous Jeanne Bliss, founder of Customer Bliss, as our keynote speaker, and we used some of our proceeds to create a scholarship fund for women business students at San Diego City College.

Congratulations to our 2012 BRAVO! Award winners:

	Woman Business Owner of the Year Award Felena Hanson, Hera Hub Felena launched Hera Hub a spa-inspired, shared workspace for female entrepreneurs in August of last year. This as-needed, flexible work and meeting space provides a productive work environment for women.  With over 140 members, this new business broke even in just 3 months. They will be launching their second location in Mission Valley in just a few months and a third location in Carlsbad by the end of this year.
	Women's Advocate of the Year Award Shavon Lindley, Women Evolution Shavon connects women to Fortune 1000 mentors in order to encourage and prepare women to shoot for the C-level positions within organizations. The mission of Women Evolution is to address the drastic drop-off of women in business between middle management and c-level positions via mentorships. Women Evolution sheds light on the lack of role models for women in corporate positions by providing a free resource for women to learn from their successful counterparts.
	Trailblazer Award Deb Hubers, LaVita Compounding Pharmacy Deb and her partner, Christine, invested their own money in their dream and  opened the first women-owned compounding pharmacy in San Diego. Women-owned LaVita is a state-of-the-art compounding pharmacy that specializes in helping people live better, longer. Deb and Christine were friends prior to launching LaVita. They launched the company when they approached middle-age to focus on the needs of women in a new and innovative manner.
	Signature Award Claudia Rose, BBI International Claudia is the Founder and President of BBI International; a Systems Engineering and  Architecture Consulting Company. Claudia has over 16 years of international program coordination and management experience. Unlike many women owners of engineering companies, Ms. Rose works in the field and acquires her knowledge through experience. She continues to strive to bring other women into the field.
	Green Community Award Elizabeth Rosales-Hall, Green Envy Promotions Elizabeth founded Green Envy Promotions (GEP) in 2009, a mission-driven, sustainable company with high green-business standards that is dedicated to providing its clients with eco-friendly promotional and marketing products. She is a pioneer in the environmentally-friendly promotional-products industry.
	Rising Star Award Marie Fox, 12 Signs Wine Marie entered the wine industry without previous experience and found sales to be a particular challenge. She understood her particular challenges and, working in conjunction with Hera Hub, gave back to her community by spearheading an intern program and a social media support group. Marie’s determination and passion to be successful have gained her new confidence, new accounts, and the recognition as a rising star in a challenging industry.
